Meet the artist-sculptor Josée-Christine Garnier
Diving in sculpture, Josée-Christine Garnier seems to have always been. Born in Marrakesh, she left her native palm grove at the age of 13 years
and moved to Toulon with his family in 1956. Eight years passed, she became a teacher and devoted to training children in pre-elementary school.
But Josée-Christine Garnier has a passion for the arts. She then attended the Ecole des Beaux Arts de Toulon, where she made a few canvases painted
with a knife. Ensuire She puts up a workshop awakening from school The Floran, Toulon before work for a research group at the Institut National de l'Audiovisuel (INA)
on the theme The Image . A job that will make particular reference to the Educational Center of Nice.
In 1998, Josée-Christine Garnier abandons teaching to devote himself to painting with Philip Meyer and sculpture with Marie-Ange Fernandez, always at
the Beaux Arts de Toulon. This new mode of expression will transform the artist of Six-Fours. «The sculpture is a moment of intense happiness. I forget my worries
and when I arrive at the conclusion of a work is like childbirth, it is a wonder that gives you chills.» Of classical in its infancy, Josée-Christine Garnier
worked sandstone, red clay of Aubagne. Gradually, his style while pleasure in refined sensuality. Research movement, volumes, work forms makes it
more refined, more daring. «Waiting», «Frivolity» or «Offering» terra cotta patina attest.
A first success in the Salle Lauzet-Ainé in Sanary in 2004 with Maryse Bérisot encourages it to continue. The sculpture
festival Carqueiranne (August 2005) and Ollioules (September 2005) confirms it in his choices.
Today, Josée-Christine Garnier combines this love of sculpture, a passion that is not ready to die.

Sculptures, painting and prints at Espace Jules de Greling
Until June 29, Espace Jules de Greling welcomed Josée-Christine Garnier (sculptures) and Christian Hibon
(painting, printmaking, stained glass).
Visitors came to this vernissage in the presence of the director of the Plastics Arts Center Dominique Baviera
and the councilors Denis Perrier and the young Stéphanie Cassar.
Denis Perrier has lent himself with humor to the exercise of presentation of the artists.
Concerning Josée-Christine Garnier: "This designer who studied the art of painting, drawing and sculpture
at the Beaux-Arts of Toulon and La Seyne as a free pupil, has always been sensitive to the first sensuality Of the
touch of the earth. It is constantly in search of forms and movements. The human body is frequently at the origin
of its inspiration ". Works mastered, oscillating between figurative and abstract. Christian Hibon is
a renowned artist, initiator of the association "Artists of Provence and Mediterranean", a company that
distinguishes itself in different national and international shows. Painting, prints, stained-glass windows,
"the multiplicity of the techniques used have led the plastic artist Gardeen to variants sometimes very
surprising". A quality work of an artist mastering his art perfectly.
